The Huguenot Cross of Languedoc The Huguenot Cross is composed of a Maltese Cross with four arms of equal length, each becoming broader as it leaves the center. Each outer edge is indented in the shape of a "V," denoting victory through Christ and making eight points at the tips, representing the eight Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-10). Between the arms of the cross are four fleurs de lis, symbolizing purity, and the four open spaces form four hearts, for love and loyalty. The dove descends from the lowest arm, a symbol of the Holy Spirit, given by the grace of God to all believers. |
